Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in locating 42-year-old Scot MacDermid and his two children, George, 6, and Lesley, 9, who have reportedly not been seen or heard from since August 28, 2026.
Police said Scot was last seen with his children at Manning Town Centre near 155 Avenue and 37 Street in Edmonton, Alberta. Authorities have expressed concern for the welfare of all three and are working to determine their whereabouts.
Scot MacDermid is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
His six-year-old son, George, is approximately 4 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 45 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Lesley, 9, is described as approximately 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 45 pounds. She also has brown hair and brown eyes.
The continued absence of Scot and his children has prompted police to appeal directly to the public for information. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the family or has information that could help establish where they have been since August 28 to contact authorities.
Police have specifically urged members of the public not to approach Scot or either of the children if they are located. Instead, anyone who believes they have spotted them or has potentially relevant information should notify the Edmonton Police Service and allow officers to handle the situation.
The request comes as investigators continue efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the family’s disappearance and make sure Scot and both children are safe.
